Chef Angelina Adamo launches Tutto Apposto

Birmingham Chef Angelina Adamo launches Tutto Apposto in Birmingham. Previously chef de partie at Simpsons Restuarant in Edgbaston, Tutto Apposto offers a selection of cakes which can be designed bespoke, and afternoon teas.

Celebrations have become even more enjoyable thanks to the creativity of a young Birmingham chef. Angelina Adamo, aged 22, used lockdown to launch Tutto Apposto, a new food offering which brings together her culinary skills, passion for cooking and sense of fun.

The name Tutto Apposto is inspired by Angelina’s Italian roots - both sets of her grandparents were born in Sicily. The phrase is often used when friends and acquaintances meet each other.

Angelina spent two years working as a chef de partie at Simpsons before an accident caused her to slip two discs in her back. Having had to spend several busy services wearing an ice pack, she took the difficult decision to leave her job for the sake of her health. Angelina’s WSET Level 1 and 2 qualifications then helped her to secure a position in a wine shop before she realised that she preferred to be in the kitchen rather than front of house.

During lockdown, Angelina started to blog about food and wine and was asked by a follower if she could prepare a cake for them. Thanks to her health and safety training at Simpsons, Angelina knew what was required to set up a professional food business. In just over a week she had transformed her parents’ kitchen to her new work place. The business launched in early June and she sold 60 cakes within the month.

Tutto Apposto offers a selection of cakes which can be designed bespoke, priced from £20 to £60. Since the launch, Angelina has expanded the range to offer a signature and luxury afternoon tea - priced at £25 per person and £35 per person. These include sandwiches and a selection of cakes. Vegan options are also available.

For larger gatherings ‘le grande feste’ is an Italian take on a Ploughman’s Lunch, including antipasti, handmade pork pies and sausage rolls, chutneys, hams and cheeses. ‘Le grande feste’ is priced at £100 and serves up to six people.

Angelina says,

“Tutto Apposto is founded on the notion of people coming together and celebrating with great food. It started with cakes but has quickly evolved to cater for all tastes and celebrations. From a Ploughman’s Lunch with nine different desserts to a lusso afternoon tea with cocktails, there’s something for every occasion. It has also been lovely to see the photos of the different spreads on social media which look fantastic.”

Angelina includes a personalised menu with all her deliveries - something she introduced after receiving her name on the menu at the French Laundry in California. Her love of Italian flavours also influences creations such as Morello cherry brownies and pistachio cream cupcakes

During her time at Simpsons, Angelina competed in the England Culinary Team that won gold, silver and bronze in the Culinary World Cup in 2018. She also won an Eric Bruce award in recognition for her enthusiasm and confidence and reached the finals of the British Culinary Federation Young Chef of the Year.
