On Friday 13 March 2020, Chef Joe Allen, will cook alongside fellow chefs in aid of the charity, Meningitis Now, following the tragic death of his brother to the illness in 2012.

The five-course menu (including canapés and a pre dessert) will be prepared by some of the UK’s top chefs including Kiran Deeny (Hide), Calum Franklin (Holborn Dining Room), Will Devlin (Small Holding, Kent), Alex Harper (The Great Scotland Yard Hotel), Adam Handling (The Frog), Ben Murphy (Launceston Place) and of course, Joe (My Neighbours the Dumplings).
The dinner will take place at Westminster Kingsway College - where Joe studied to be a chef - and all funds raised on the night will go to the charity. Since 2012, Joe has raised an outstanding £120,000 for the charity whose aim is to spread lifesaving awareness about the disease and support affected families.
Joe commented: “Originally, I wanted to organise a one-off event in memory of my brother that would raise money for the charity. Little did I know just how much support I would receive from the industry, friends and family along the way and eight years on we’re still fundraising. Ultimately the hope is that the money and awareness raised will help families so they’ll never have to experience what my family did.”
There will also be a charity auction and raffle on the night with prizes including a table for two at Anglo, Farringdon.
Fellow chefs and friends, Trung Nguyen and Aaron Thomas will run the London Marathon this year in support of Meningitis Now.
