Royal Warrant Holder, Partridges, are hosting the second annual World Chelsea Bun Awards to celebrate World Chelsea Bun Day, which this year falls on Saturday 2nd May.
Due to the Coronavirus the World Chelsea Bun Awards are moving online and it’s FREE to enter the bake-off via www.worldchelseabunawards.com The Judges include Michelin Star Chef Phil Howard, owner of Elystan Street in Chelsea; Hélène Frost, the Chief Executive of The Children’s Surgery Foundation and John Shepherd, owner of Partridges who has recently become ’Icon of the Speciality Fine Food & Drink Industry’.
The judging will take place on Saturday 2nd May at 3pm. The competition is free to enter but entrants are requested to make a donation to The Children’s Surgery Foundation, to help support children undergoing treatment at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital.
All bakers need to do is make some Chelsea Buns, photograph them and either post the photo on Instagram using the hashtag #worldchelseabunawards and tag in @world.chelsea.bun.awards or email their photograph via the www.worldchelseabunawards.com website.
Entry Deadline: 5pm on Friday 1st May 2020.
Bakers of all ages and skill levels can enter photographs of their Chelsea Buns into one of three categories:
- Children (under 18) – Prize: Bespoke Partridges Hamper filled with delicious treats; - Adults – Prize: Bespoke Partridges Hamper including Partridges Chelsea Flower Gin; - Businesses – Prize: Bespoke Partridges Sharing Hamper including Partridges Champagne.
All winners will also receive a Partridges Certificate and the overall ‘Best Chelsea Bun Baker 2020’ will be awarded a £100 Gift Voucher from Merci Maman.
