Kray Treadwell joins Port Gaverne as Head Chef of Pilchards Cafe & Paul Green joins Stargazy Inn

Kray Treadwell and Paul Green take up new roles on Cornish coast



Proprietor David Barnard is cementing Cornwall’s status as the new gastro destination with two new additions to his critically acclaimed restaurant empire.


The award-winning Port Gaverne restaurant and hotel has announced that Kray Treadwell, former Head Chef at Michael O Hare’s one Michelin star Man Behind the Curtain, will be taking over the reins at their café on the beach, Pilchards.


The highly talented Kray Treadwell who appeared on this year’s Great British Menu will be heading up the kitchen, and has created a new menu to boot. New dishes include small plates such as Teriyaki Salmon Fish Kebab and Chicken Ramen & Noodles, alongside larger plates including Roasted Belly Pork, Asian Slaw & Candied Cashew Nuts. Homemade flatbreads will also feature on the menu with unique flavour combinations such as BBQ Mackerel, Pickled Cucumber and Bronze Fennel.


Paul Green, former Head Chef at Adam Reid’s The French in Manchester will be joining The Stargazy Inn, working alongside Head Chef and Great British Menu star Andrew Sheridan, currently deemed one of the country’s most innovative and ambitious young chefs.



The Stargazy Inn has gone from strength to strength since it’s refurb in April 2019, firmly establishing itself as a luxury fine-dining restaurant, showcasing amazing produce on Stargazy’s doorstep including fish from Port Isaac day boats, and lobsters from the pots in the bay.
