Le Cordon Bleu, the leading global network of culinary arts and hospitality management institutes, will launch their dining concept in the City of London this Spring. CORD by Le Cordon Bleu will be part of a unique offering all under one roof: a fine dining restaurant, a café and an outpost to the London Le Cordon Bleu culinary institute.
Open for lunch and dinner, Monday to Friday, the 90-cover restaurant will showcase varying menu offerings: from dinner tasting menus, through to the daily a la carte and accessible weekly changing set lunch menu, priced at £25 per head.
Ideal for lunches where time is limited, the set menu will be served within an hour and a half, coupled with a fine selection of wines by the glass. Hero dishes on the menu will include: Heritage Tomato Carpaccio served with creamy Buratti, faille de brick, Manchego and Lampung pepper; Smoked Rainbow Trout accompanied with fennel, pomegranate, apple and yuzu; Poached Dover Sole and lime presented with leek, rate potato, wild garlic and seaweed and Anuria Milk-Fed Lamb from the Pyrenees with polenta, sea herbs and broad beans.
An eclectic and extensive wine list will be on offer with an impressive selection from French vineyards as well as Germany, Italy, Spain and the New World. A host of biodynamic and organic wines will be readily available alongside a range of spirits and brandy for the more discerning drinker. Diners to CORD can opt for select wine pairings and alcohol-free tea pairings with their food, delivering something to suit all tastes and occasions.
CORD Café will be open for breakfast and lunch, Monday to Friday, eat in or take away. The 30-cover Cord Café will offer the finest French patisseries and viennoiseries (Cinnamon croissant, Raspberry flower danish and Cardamom knot, all baked fresh on-site daily) alongside gourmet sandwiches, fresh salads, homemade soups and artisan bread.
CORD Café will be available for exclusive hire during evenings and weekends for up to 50 guests.
