2020 is about to get a HOLE lot more delicious, as National Doughnut Week announces its return from 9 – 16 May 2020.
The week, sponsored by CSM Bakery Solutions, raises funds for The Children’s Trust, the UK’s leading charity for children with a brain injury.
Every fifteen minutes a child is left with a brain injury. The charity delivers rehabilitation, education and community services through skilled teams who work with children and young people, and their families.
Donations of £4 pay for a touch and feel sensory toy, £15 funds fibre-optic lights for a multisensory room, and £200 funds a music system to give children added stimulation.
Last year during National Doughnut Week £32,532 was raised for The Children’s Trust with the help of hundreds of independent bakers, cafes and shops who sold delicious doughnuts for charity.
It has been running for 28 years, after being launched in 1991 by Christopher Freeman, owner of Dunn’s Bakery.
National Doughnut Week is 9 – 16 May 2020
