We may be called Chatting Food, but we are also known to love our booze. Each month Jo Aspin rounds up the hottest new drinks to hit the market from across the UK.
Limited Edition Bespoke Canned Cocktails From Empirical Spirits
Putting the collectable factor into canned cocktails, innovative Danish distillery and ‘flavour creators’ Empirical Spirits have launched a duo of canned cocktails in collaboration with artist Toby Evans.
Understatedly titled CAN 01 and CAN 02, the first is an Oolong Tea – a lightly carbonated drink made with gooseberry, toasted birch, milk and pomelo zest. The latter, Sour Cherry – featuring black currant buds, young pine cone and walnut wood. And Toby’s designs wouldn’t look out of place in a full moon rave in Thailand – we’ll drink to that!
Price: £11 for the pair
Available from: purchase at Rita’s Dining in South London and via the Empirical Spirits web shop.
This one’s got the bling factor with its chunky white bottle and gold label. The Italian liqueur brand Disaronno has launched a new edition - Disaronno Velvet. Opaque and cream in colour and just as it says on the tin ‘refreshing and creamy’, this new liqueur is best served straight up on the rocks. That’s lockdown summer evenings sorted then. Available at all big retailers now.
White Claw & Two Brooks
Hard seltzers are beginning to migrate from the USA and hit British shelves. We’ve got wind of two new launches this June: White Claw – a low cal, gluten-free sparkling water with an alcoholic base on offer in raspberry, black cherry and natural lime flavours.
Two Brooks has launched with three flavours: Passion Star; Mango Hi-ball and Lime Cooler - also gluten-free and made from 100% natural ingredients resulting in a low calorie, low sugar and no-carb drink range. Consider these your ideal 2020 park companions.
Price: £2.50 for 330ml
Available from: Tesco
Price: 12 pack for £29.99.

Funkin’s Piña Colada Nitro Cocktail
There’s more fun in a can on offer from Funkin Cocktails this month with the launch of their latest flavour Piña Colada Nitro. Blended pineapple juice, coconut water, cream and rum all ready to drink on the go. Give the can a good shake to bring out the nitro – which enhances the smoothness of the drink as well as brings out the aromatics.
