Hard Seltzers are making waves across the drinks sector with more and more of choosing a healthier option at the summer BBQ. Writer Erica Pilavaki tries the latest range from Allendale Brewery sister company, RIDE.
There's no doubt about it, boozy sparkling water aka hard seltzers are having a moment.
Ride are hard seltzers which have quietly been climbing their way up the trend ladder and establishing themselves as the next generation of alcoholic drink designed to fit in with the modern lifestyle.
Aptly named Ride Drinks are part of Allendale brewery and the drinks stand for everything the brand is; exciting, fun, health-focused and enjoyable. Tapping into the health and wellness tidal wave and packaged in handy and consciously Instagrammable cans, it’s going to be hard to avoid them.
The drinks themselves are super crisp and invigorating, best served EXTRA chilled. They are also low in calories and sugar so they are a totally guilt-free way of drinking. If you’re looking for a lighter pre-mixed option – or you simply don’t enjoy heavy tasting drinks – then Ride is for you.
At present Ride have four different flavours in their repertoire:
Mango & Passionfruit
Each of which contains 4% alcohol, all with natural fruit flavours, gluten free and vegan friendly.
I was massively impressed by Ride's lineup of uplifting flavours that actually taste like REAL fruit and the fact that it had just 86 calories per can, it is a perfect compromise to calorie-rich drinks such as a typical beer. I found sampling Ride such a pleasure, first and foremost, they are undeniably thirst-quenching and with the aromatic bubbles jumping out of the can, jiving nicely on my tongue make it a real celebration of the senses.
So, long story short, I really, really loved them all, Ride is a very acceptable warm-weather refreshment that could EASILY challenge the Aperol Spritz for summer supremacy!
Ride Hard Seltzers are available from Ride Drinks.
