Officially launching this month Street Food Union has announced that they will be hosting two start-up food businesses, initially at their Bayou Bar site, allowing them to take over the site for a Sunday and create their own unique pop up experiences,
with the invaluable support of a team with years of experience behind them.
Building on an initial takeover last year, when Mo’s Eggs brought his concept to Broadway Market for a special one of event, the Street Food Union team hope that this was the first of many successful pop-ups which allow new food business, with the support of the Street Food Union team, to test drive their ideas within a realistic environment.
To launch this initiative on the 26th of January Ruben's Reubens will be bringing his salt beef sandwiches to Tooting for a unique take on Sunday brunch and on the 9th of February PEP Kitchen will be hosting ‘PEP-MEX’; an all plant-based Mexican street food menu based on the high quality frozen meals the new business have created.
From foundation, Street Food Union has focused on supporting its traders. Initially establishing a Street Food University, they actively mentor their traders offering training on finances, product buying, festival events and much more. This approach means that traders launch their food businesses informed and as a direct consequence, unlike so many start-up food businesses in this competitive industry, are much more likely to succeed in establishing their businesses.
