The Lowry Hotel has put a festive twist on a traditional Beef Wellington, incorporating a full Christmas dinner with all the trimmings into a pastry Wellington.
The unique Wellington contains a roulade of Cheshire turkey, cranberry stuffing, pigs in blankets and free-range duck breast, rolled in a sage pancake and all-butter puff pastry.
The launch follows on from the River Restaurant’s Wellington Wednesday, which saw a different unique Wellington visit the menu each week.
The Wellington costs £50 for two people and is available every Wednesday apart from Christmas Day.
Dave Ashton, Executive Head Chef, commented: “Beef Wellington is one of my all-time favourite dishes and is perfect for the River Restaurant, which prides itself on serving British classics done well. Our Wellington Wednesday offer has proved extremely popular with diners, so we wanted to bring out something extra-special for the festive season!”
The River Restaurant recently finished its five-star renovation which saw an entire redesign of the hotel’s bar and restaurant.
