The Tennants Arms launches Stay, Catch and Cook Experience

Go out and catch your dinner, have it cooked for you, and then nap. PERFECT!

The Tennants Arms Hotel in the picturesque Yorkshire Dales hamlet of Kilnsey is offering a unique getaway for foodies with a penchant for fish with its new Stay, Catch and Cook experience.

Ok, tell us more!

Guests at the traditional inn in Wharfedale can spend two nights in one of its ten luxury boutique en-suite rooms and enjoy half a day learning how to fly-fish on the lakes at the glorious Kilnsey Park Estate.

The experience is also suitable for more skilled anglers who can book four hours of tuition to help improve their technique.

Ok, we've managed to catch a trout, what is next?

Guests can then return to the hotel with their catch and have their fresh trout turned into a mouth-watering dish by executive chef and owner, Tom Garland-Jones.

Having previously worked in Michelin-starred establishments and headed a team of 200 chefs United States, Mr Garland-Jones said:

“Stay, Catch & Cook is a great opportunity for novices or experienced fishermen, as well as those who are serious about food, as the fresh trout at Kilnsey Park Estate is second to none.”

“The Tennant Arms is a great spot for fishing enthusiasts; overlooking the River Wharfe, one of the most renowned Yorkshire rivers, not just because of the stunning scenery, but also famed for its superior fly fishing.”

Available to book all year round between Sunday and Thursday, the two-night Stay, Catch and Cook offer starts from £263 for two people, and includes half-day fishing for one person, up to two trout to take away and dinner for two the same evening at The Tennants Arms Hotel.

It looks beautiful, what else can we do?

Besides fishing, Kilnsey is an ideal base from which to explore the magnificent Yorkshire Dales National Park and is surrounded by incredible walking and cycling routes. The unique limestone landscape is scattered with drystone barns and walls creating a patchwork across the steep slopes of the dale, with limestone scars above and picturesque villages along the valley below.
