Planning a trip to London? Already here and wondering where to spend your hard-earned cash on the ultimate dining splurge? Here are Chatting Food’s top restaurant openings for November nights. Dig in!
Amazonico

There’s nothing understated about this new restaurant coming to Mayfair’s Berkley Square from Madrid-based husband and wife team, Sandro Silva and Marta Seco. Tropically decked out with real plants and plush greens, Amazonico’s food and interiors will ‘take guests on a trip down the Amazon from source to sea’ – think Rainforest Café for grown-ups. Merging Latin American faves – there’ll be cachaca cocktails, traditional Brazilian dishes and Peruvian sushi, plus live jazz in the evenings – definitely one for the gram!
Opens 9th November
Folie

Golden Square gets a snazzy new hangout this month. Interiors will evoke the glamour of the 1960s/ 70s, and food draws inspiration from the Riviera from Marseille to Portofino, through St. Tropez and Nice. Plates for sharing such as confit lamb shoulder and charcoal-roasted sea bass will feature alongside classic cocktails (martinis, sazeracs, and negronis) plus rare and unusual pastis and vermouths and European wines.
Opens 11th November
Mei Mei

A brand new bunch of foodies set up shop in Borough Market’s new Market Kitchen this November. We’ve got our eye on Mei Mei – a solo London debut for Chef Elizabeth Haigh (founder head chef at Pidgen in Hackney). Singaporean street food and Nanyang Kopi coffee will feature at the 12-cover counter restaurant with Hainanese chicken rice taking centre stage. Plus fans of the chef can try other Haigh signatures including her ox cheek Rendang curry, and Malaysian Nasi lemak served with homemade chilli sauce.
Opens 13th November
Le Comptoir Robuchon

The legendary chef Robuchon lives on with a restaurant AND deli opening in his name in Mayfair. Le Comptoir Robuchon will offer classic ‘Robuchon style’ plates from Executive Chef Jeremy Page, who worked closely with Chef Robuchon for over a decade at the original L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Saint Germain, Paris. Dishes like La Saint-Jacques - scallop, potatoes and sage; Le Homard - native lobster and romesco sauce; and La Caille - quail, foie gras and truffle will feature. Le Deli Robuchon will open later in the month where shoppers can pick up wines, teas, cheese and more to go or dine in on Robuchon’s famous Jambon-Beurre Le Prince de Paris baguette, and the immortal French chef’s signature butter.
Le Comptoir Robuchon - opening 1st November 2019
Le Deli Robuchon - opening 25th November 2019
TOKii

A swish restaurant opens in the new Prince Akatoki hotel in Marylebone this month. TOKii interiors are on a minimalist tip, from dark timber joinery to blackened cladding and timber screenings, while the menu will fuse Eastern and western flavours with Japan at the forefront. Choose from sashimi and sushi, mixed skewers and fried tempura plus decadent grills on the robata including Japanese grade A5 wagyu beef with spicy ponzu, and lobster with shichimi and yuzu butter.
Opens 6th November
