Bordeaux Takes Over Humble Grape This September

Forget everything you thought you knew about Bordeaux! This September, Humble Grape has teamed up with Bordeaux Wine to smash stereotypes, proving that this iconic French region is so much more than heavyweight reds and steep price tags. This huge month-long celebration will take place across all six of Humble Grape’s wine bars, and you can expect incredible tasting events, winemaker dinners, and unexpected food pairings - all designed to make you fall in love with Bordeaux all over again!

Burger & Bordeaux Dinner with Liam D’Arcy - £94

Wednesday 24th September - Humble Grape Fleet Street


Think Bordeaux is too serious for a burger? Think again. Hosted by charismatic wine personality Liam D’Arcy (@thewinewally), this fun event will match together five mini gourmet burgers plus a dessert with six incredible Bordeaux wines to challenge your preconceptions!


Start light and lively with a creamy Goat’s Cheese burger paired with the fruity Château Franc-Baudron, Verso, 2022, before diving into the decadent richness of a Mushroom and Truffle burger coupled with the perfectly balanced Château Grangey 'Les 5 Parcelles' St Emilion Grand Cru, 2019. Expect to be surprised, delighted, and very well-fed! 



Bordeaux Winemaker Dinner with Château Monbrison - £125pp

For one night only, Humble Grape welcomes Château Monbrison for an intimate, three-hour supper club that celebrates the very best of Bordeaux. Guided by the winemaker himself, Laurent Vonderheyden, guests will explore four exceptional wines, including the deliciously drinkable Haut-Médoc de Monbrison, 2015, plus a welcome drink. Each glass will be paired with incredible dishes crafted by Humble Grape’s Executive Chef, and between courses, you’ll get to hear stories from the château, discover the nuances of Bordeaux terroirs, and see just how versatile this region can be. 



World of Wine Tasting: Bordeaux with Château Monbrison - £65pp

Take a deep dive into Bordeaux’s Left Bank with this two-hour guided tasting of six wines, starting with the refreshing and unexpected welcome drink, Château Arzac Blanc, 2022, Graves AOC. The winemaker, Laurent Vonderheyden, from Château Monbrison will lead you through a line-up that spans grand vins and hidden gems, revealing the traditions, techniques, and terroirs that make Bordeaux so special. Whether you’re a seasoned Bordeaux lover or a curious newcomer, you’ll leave with a new appreciation for the depth and character of this legendary region.

Unable to make the events? You can still join in the celebrations with Humble Grape’s Bordeaux Wine Flight, a self-guided journey through the region in four glasses. From the bright and floral Château Landonnet Bordeaux Blanc 2023 to the rich and spicy Château Grangey, St Emilion Grand Cru, 2020 - this flight shows that Bordeaux is far more diverse than most people realise.
