As we hurtle towards the end of the year the dining scene seems to be quickening up the pace in tandem. The myriad of openings this November scales Eastern European spots, a debut solo restaurant for Chef Tom Botton, a fourth site in the capital for Bubala, and a new Asian restaurant Tattu parks up in Canary Wharf.

Elezar

This new restaurant from chef Mikail Zelmen sounds achingly cool. It's set to open in St George's Church, Hanover Square this November. The Eastern European chophouse will draw on the region's flavours and techniques, including pickling, fermenting, curing and preserving. Head Chef Erik Miotto’s cooking is formed from his Ukrainian family roots, while Consulting Chef David Bury, infuses the menus with his Polish heritage. Starters will feature Elezar's own distinctly-shaped pierogi (dumplings) - filled with beef and mushrooms or Polish cheese and potatoes. Mains will centre on whole fish and large cuts of steak, tuna ribeye on the bone, and pork chops and T-Bones. The drinks list sees. a heavy focus on Eastern Europe throughout, featuring a vodka-heavy cocktail menu and Czech house beer.

Opens 2 November 2026

Address: Elezar, The Vestry, 2A Mill Street, W1S 1FX

Tattu

Tattu, the modern Pan-Asian restaurant group known for its lavish interiors and prices to match, will open on a floating pontoon at 5 Water St, Canary Wharf this month. The design draws inspiration from the historic floating restaurants of China. Expect an exterior of glowing lanterns and neon signage that reflects across the water. Meanwhile the interiors will be organised into four distinct realms based on ancient maritime mythology. The double-height Grand Hall dining room, representing the White Dragon; Red Dragon cocktail bar, defined by dragon-scale arches and ribbed red wall-coverings, a Black Dragon mezzanine which will offer an intimate environment of ebony and gold and the Azure Dragon private dining room.

Bubala Covent Garden

We've been going wild for Bubala's layered crispy confit potato, outstanding hummus and general vegetarian deliciousness ever since their first site opened Spitalfields in 2019, so news of their fourth opening in Covent Garden this autumn is welcome news indeed for this little ol' restaurant column. Aptly, as the restaurant is in the heart of theatreland, Bubala Covent Garden has launched a 'pre theatre mezze experience' (£27pp), of Bubala favourites with a guaranteed one-hour turn around. Get stuck into hummus with burnt butter, labneh with confit garlic and zaatar and oyster mushroom skewers. It's available Monday-Friday until 6pm.

The team behind Broadway Market's Restaurant Sune (Spencer Large, Honey Spencer, and Charlie Sims) will launch The Poet - a pub and restaurant by Smithfield Meat Market this month. On the ground floor, The Poet will 'pay homage to the classic Victorian pub, drawing on the

maximalist aesthetic of the era' while the first floor will offer 'elevated dining'.

Two further spaces will join later this year - the mezannine spot Envoi - an intimate 10-seat chef’s table restaurant, and the brilliantly named Shambles cocktail bar is soon to arrive in the attic.

Ralphie’s

At the ripe old age of just 33 Chef Tom Booton will launch his first solo restaurant on The Pimlico Road this month. This follows his six years as Executive Chef at The Grill by Tom Booton at The Dorchester, where he became the youngest person to take on the role in the restaurant’s long history. Offering his own take on British food there is plenty of fanfare planned from Beef Wellington carved tableside and sharing serves of Banoffee pies on offer in the private dining room, vanilla soft-serve sandwich with warm hazelnut and fudge sauce poured tableside in the main restaurant and on Sundays - Yorkshire pudding filled with a leg of lamb ‘Shepherd’s Pie’. Ooof!
