Spring has sprung and we've been taking notes on all the top new arrivals. Take your pick from these new restaurant openings in London and beyond this March.

Coopers Cut

Steak is everywhere at the moment so little surprise that the newest restaurant at Four Seasons Hotel London At Tower Bridge is a contemporary 72-cover steakhouse. Cooper's Cut is named after Sir Edwin Cooper, the architect behind the celebrated Port of London Authority building.  Executive Chef, Luke Armstrong, is in charge, bringing contemporary French techniques from Oud Sluis, The Ledbury, and L’Envol. The main event on the menu is of course beef from world-class origins, grass-fed British cuts, Japanese Wagyu, Cumbrian Belted Galloway, and Hyogo Tajima beef.

What's cooking?  Starters of steak tartare and smoked scallop, topped with caviar, and delicately grilled Scottish langoustines with Mary- Rose sauce and lemon. The Cooper's Cuts include cote de beouf, chateaubriand, fillet, rib-eye, and if beef is not for you, saddle of lamb or luxurious Bouillabaisse, made using fresh seafood from nearby Billingsgate Market. I'm pleased to report that a modern approach hasn't seen off classic sauces - peppercorn, Bearnaise, and Diane. The sides have had a slight shake-up, but thankfully, creamed spinach remains. The cocktail offering is strong. Head of Bars, Michele Lombardi, introduces the modern-day martini, using premium lighter spirits, increasing the botanicals and tinkering with ratios.

 Teal by Sally Abé

Gordon Ramsay protégé Sally Abé opens her first restaurant this month. The little British bistro 'Teal by Sally Abé' will open on the lovely Wilton Way in Hackney. Abe Drewry is co-owner.

Sally Abé has said; “Teal by Sally Abé is about celebrating the best of British food, its history, its flavours, and its stories, while championing women, supporting good causes, and building a restaurant that feels rooted in its community. "

You can expect British nostalgia on the menus starting with snacks of Devils on Horseback and starters including Dorset Crab Royale, English Peas and Lovage. Finish with whimiscal concotions like Raspberry Marshmallow Teacakes, and Marmalade Ice Cream Sandwiches.

Jul's

Ibiza cool vibes are coming to St James's with the opening of Jul's. Another restaurant from Christos Foto, Jul's embodies precision cooking and attention to detail. The restaurant works with ceramics studios to produce bespoke plates that showcase every individual dish. Jul's arrival is seen as an injection into a traditionally stuffy area. A large wine wall and downstairs bar will likely attracted those looking for a nice drink. Expect open fire cooking, and dishes such as slow-cooked lamb flatbreads and giouvetsi (beef stew with orzo).

Opens 11 March 2026

Maza

A love letter to Athens, written in Mayfair. Such a poetic description of the latest restaurant from the team behind Notting Hill restaurant, Mazi. A large restaurant, with both counter and table service, classic Athenian inspired dining is the order of the day. Dishes on the menu are likely to include: crispy pork belly gyros, served tableside with pittas and tzatziki, grilled lobster with lobster head bisque rice, and honey-roasted tomatoes, with goat's cheese and thyme oil. The wine list is exclusively Greek wine  and meal times will will begin with a traditional shot of tsipouro, served with mezze.

Padella

We've all seen the queues outside the original Borough Market restaurant. It was a blessed relief when a second restaurant opened in Shoreditch and now a third is on the way. The Padella business model is to only reserve a small amount of tables for pre-booking.

The new Kingly Street restaurant is sure to mobbed, just as the other two continue to be.  It's amazing the lengths people have gone to for hand-made pasta, since the first restaurant opened a decade ago. Kingly Street is set over two floors, including a private dining room, with some new dishes promised, it will cover 2300 square feet with 80 covers. We hope their existing menu faves  ravioli of Westcombe ricotta with tomato sauce, fettuccine with Cobble Lane nduja, mascarpone & lemon, and tagliarini with Dorset crab, chili & lemon - will also be availble at this latest branch.

Opening date TBC

The Wild Duck Inn

Sam and Georgie Pearman, the duo behind Country Creatures, the family of boutique hotels and pubs including the much-loved Double Red Duke in Oxfordshire add Wild Duck Inn to their portfolio this month. You can find the sixteenth century coaching inn in the town of Ewen, Southern Cotswolds, where the pair have restored the once derelict building into a charming-sounding pub with rooms.

Low-beamed ceiling, roaring fires, aged wooden floors, will soon be the backdrop for hand-picked designer wallpapers, natural paints from Edward Bulmer, and locally based Amy Kent rugs. The restaurant will be led by Group Executive Chef James Adams, who has worked in leading kitchens around London, including Spring and The River Café, and has designed a menu spotlighting the abundant bounties of produce in and around the Cotswolds.

TAQ

The TAQ team
The TAQ team

Chefs Eduardo Yishima and Jackson Boxer have joined forces to relaunch one of London’s original Mexican restaurants, Taqueria this March. The Westbourne Grove restaurant will reopen as TAQ, with a new identity and an entirely new menu. At it’s core, TAQ will be centred on fresh, hot tortillas topped with high-quality grilled meat and salsa, cold beers, and great value-margaritas. You can expect Crisp fried Tostadas, Quesadillas stuffed with cheese and carnitas, and snacks and sides such as chorizo and jalapeno croquettas and shrimp taco dorados.

Jackson Boxer said; “Taqueria already had an amazing team with huge potential – it just needed an exciting new offering and identity to breathe new life into the place. Knowing that my good friend Eduardo was looking for a new project, it made perfect sense to bring them together”.

Opens 3 March
