Junsei X Masaya San Sake Pairing Menu

To celebrate National Sake Week in August Junsei, the yakitori restaurant from Aman Lakhiani, is welcoming one of London's leading sake experts, Masayo San for a month-long collaboration exploring the depth, diversity and craftsmanship of this ancient brew.

Launching on 5th August, the collaboration will see Masayo San of World Sake Exports curate an exclusive sake pairing menu, showcasing a selection of exceptional pours designed to complement Junsei's specially created dishes. A London-based sake sommelier and educator, Masayo is renowned for connecting historic Japanese breweries with the UK's culinary scene, having curated sake programmes for restaurants including Osteria Angelina, alongside holding the prestigious JSA Wine Expert qualification.

The World Sake Imports X Junsei menu, priced at £62, will feature four rare and distinctive sakes from World Sake Imports, sourced from across Japan, from the snow-capped mountains of the north to the flowing rivers of Yamaguchi Prefecture. Guests will taste the Kamoizumi Umelicious Umeshu, Masumi Shiro "Sake Matinee," Tedorigawa Yamahai Junmai "Silver Mountain" and Tamagawa Time Machine, each expertly paired with a dedicated menu of dishes from Junsei, spanning beef tartare on crispy rice, crab and corn croquettes, Junsei’s signature skewers, a grilled salmon donburi and milk purin to finish.

Throughout the collaboration, Masayo will be joined by Junsei's Head Mixologist and General Manager, Rizwan Khan, who will guide guests through the intricacies of Japanese sake and drinking culture, with the pair running special services on the floor on August 5th and 19th. Vinyl DJs will spin the soundtrack, creating the perfect backdrop for a relaxed night of great food, sake, and music.

The World Sake Imports X Junsei menu featuring Masayo's exclusive sake pairings will be available from 5th–30th August, priced at £62pp.
