Set within the city’s stylish boutique hotel, the restaurant blends contemporary elegance with a warm, easy confidence, creating an atmosphere that invites you to linger rather than simply dine.
The design is unmistakably Indigo: modern, polished, and characterful without tipping into pretension. Soft lighting, thoughtful textures and a sense of occasion that works equally well for business lunches, celebratory dinners, or a leisurely weekend treat.
Hotel Indigo Coventry, operated by Castlebridge Hospitality, has recently appointed Madan Rathore as Hotel Manager and Hugo Correia as Head Chef. Madan brings with him more than 20 years of hospitality experience and a proven track record of operational excellence across leading international hotel brands.

A highly professional, multi-skilled, and creative chef, Hugo has built an impressive career over more than eight years in the hospitality industry, prior to his appointment, serving as Head Chef at Weston Hall Hotel.
The kitchen is open and fully integrated, allowing the Chefs to be a part of the diner’s experience - always a sign of confidence in their offering.
Indeed, the menu is a celebration of British seasonality, executed with a level of finesse that shows the kitchen’s ambition. Dishes arrive beautifully plated but never overworked. Our starters of Soup of the Day and Prawn & Chorizo Pil Pil were vibrant and well-balanced, with fresh ingredients allowed to shine.

Mains, while comforting, also managed to be elevated with clever touches and precise cooking. Portions are generous without losing refinement, and there’s a clear commitment to quality produce throughout.
My Chicken Makhani marked a departure from my norm, with curries so often feeling lacking when not served in an Asian restaurant. But I was so pleased I’d given it a go – it was extremely tasty and the chicken was so tender.

Hubby’s Half Spatchcock Chicken with Chimichurri was a sizeable portion that definitely satisfied both his palate and his appetite – so much so that dessert had to be shared. In hindsight the wrong choice as our spoons jostled for another scoop such was the moreish nature of the New York Style Baked Vanilla Cheesecake.
Other sweet favourites such as Dark Chocolate Brownie and Sticky Toffee Pudding, also featured.
In fact, the basis of this menu is classic food done well, something we were more than happy to embrace. All too often lately style over substance can leave one feeling a tad underwhelmed with a menu that overpromises but, sadly, underdelivers.

Cogs Restaurant succeeds because it understands what modern diners often want: authenticity, comfort, and a touch of luxury delivered with sincerity. It’s stylish without being showy, confident without being loud, and consistently enjoyable from first impression to final bite. This restaurant not only complements its hotel but stands proudly on its own merits.
If you’re a diner of traditional tastes (think Steak, Fish & Chips, Burgers, Lasagne, Risotto and Pizzas) this is one for you. There’s also a good selection of salads and vegetarian dishes, plus tempting sides, and their Three for £18 offer on Grazers & Nibbles makes this a good choice for after work drinks with colleagues or pre- or post-travel sustenance due to its (very) close proximity to the train station.
