Tommi Miers, Sam Way and Ravneet Gill Announce Viñeta de Oaxaca Supperclub.

Wahaca co-founder Tommi Miers, TikTok cookery sensation Sam Way and Bake Off’s dessert queen Ravneet Gill join forces for Viñeta de Oaxaca - a special supper club offering a taste of Oaxaca at Wahaca’s Shoreditch restaurant on Wednesday 6th July.

Oaxaca. It’s the beautiful Mexican city and state that’s known to many as the country’s street food capital, as well as being the original source of inspiration for the much-loved Wahaca restaurant group. And after two years of travel restrictions, it was the place to which Wahaca co-founder Tommi Miers was most looking forward to returning - so in January this year she did just that, accompanied by some fellow foodies - TikTok cookery sensation Sam Way and Bake Off’s dessert queen Ravneet Gill. Spending a week immersing themselves in Oaxaca’s vibrant food culture, from lively city centre markets to rural mezcal distilleries, they returned to the UK with a determination to share their inspiration and memories from the trip in the most delicious way possible.

The result is Viñeta de Oaxaca - a special supper club offering a taste of Oaxaca, curated by Wahaca. Guests will descend on Wahaca’s Shoreditch restaurant on Wednesday 6th July to enjoy a carefully-created five course tasting menu, inspired by the unforgettable tastes and flavours enjoyed by Tommi, Ravneet and Sam during their week in Oaxaca. From street food dishes including a tostada topped with traditionally-made mole coloradito from the state’s Isthmus region; a courgette flower tamale and a light and zesty aguachile to a flavoursome lamb barbacoa, and finishing with a delectable salted caramel tart, it’s a feast of deliciously authentic Mexican tastes that’s not to be missed.

Tommi Miers commented: “Oaxaca has, for many years, been one of my favourite places in the world. The scenery, rich culture and incredible food meant that after two years of restricted travel, I was itching to go back. It was such a privilege to introduce Sam and Rav to the place that inspired me to open Wahaca, and to see them getting equally inspired by the food we tasted there - so much so that we couldn’t resist the opportunity to bring our memories to life in supper club form once we returned home. We hope that Viñeta de Oaxaca will give a little glimpse into one of the most delicious places I know.”
