BiBi & Friends: Chet Sharma Welcomes Cal Byerley and Ian Waller for One-Night Collaboration

On Monday 29th September 2025, BiBi’s Chef Patron, Chet Sharma, will host the third instalment of his BiBi & Friends series, welcoming acclaimed chefs Cal Byerley and Ian Waller from Michelin-starred Pine in Northumberland.

The collaboration is rooted in friendship and shared values. Sharma and Byerley first worked together over a decade ago within Simon Rogan’s Umbel Restaurant Group, and recently reconnected at “2nd Bite for Cancer Research.”

That reunion sparked the idea for this one-off dinner at BiBi, with Byerley joined by his Head Chef, Ian Waller.

The Menu

The evening will celebrate the start of autumn and the best of the British larder. Diners can expect signature dishes from both kitchens – including BiBi’s Scallop Nimbu Pani and Pine’s Tomato, Fennel Pollen & Strawberry – alongside collaborative creations made with ingredients from each other’s pantries. With a shared passion for preservation, pickling and sustainability, the chefs promise a menu threaded with seasonality, creativity and conviviality.

Chet Sharma says: “I’m a great admirer of the work Cal and Ian are doing at Pine. I can’t wait to explore the unexpected synergies between our cuisines and bring them to London for a night of generosity and flavour.”

Cal Byerley adds: “Catching up with Chet earlier this year felt like perfect timing. Ian and I are thrilled to join the BiBi kitchen and showcase what happens when our two approaches come together.”

The event is sponsored by Veuve Clicquot and priced at £195 per person, including a welcome drink. Optional wine and non-alcoholic pairings are available.
