Dallas Burger Joint Lands in London

Dallas, the laidback burger joint beloved by Lisbonites, has officially opened its doors in London’s East End, bringing its distinctly neighbourhood-first spirit to Shoreditch.

At the heart of Dallas is a simple idea: good neighbourhood spots should feel like they have always belonged there. It is a philosophy deeply rooted in Lisbon, where small, independent establishments become part of the fabric of their streets and the micro-communities around them. In Shoreditch, Dallas is bringing that same spirit to an East London neighbourhood already shaped by its own network of local businesses, markets and creative spaces. This latest spot seats 48 and continues Dallas’ quietly deliberate approach to real estate. Rather than seeking out polished, purpose-built sites, the cult-favourite burger joint deliberately looks for unassuming, faded and often overlooked neighbourhood spaces, giving them a new lease of life while preserving what was already there. 

In Shoreditch, that means preserving the character of the former pub. The original facade and architectural details remain, making the restaurant feel less like a new arrival and more like the next chapter of a familiar local space. Inside, mustard and orange accents pair with rich cherry-toned wood panelling, while work by photographers William Eggleston, Devlin Claro and Martin Parr adorns the walls. Mosaic flooring, Formica tabletops, vintage lighting and Portuguese tiles add a nostalgic, mid-century café feel while nodding to its roots.

That same restraint extends to the food. Dallas takes an anti-trend approach to burgers, avoiding the elaborate, towering stacks and endless combinations that dominate the category. Instead, the menu is streamlined and focused on doing a few things very well. The beef comes from Aubrey Allen, a Royal Warrant holder that sources only the top 1% of British beef. Its cattle are raised in nationally recognised Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where clean air, fresh water and quality grazing provide the foundations for great meat. Each 165g Dallas patty is made from a secret blend of three premium cuts, balancing flavour, tenderness and juiciness. And for non-meat eaters, any burger can be made with a vegan patty.

Founded by Pierre d’Andrimont, Dallas was born after a trip to New York inspired him to bring the classic no-nonsense burger joint to Portugal, opening their first on Pink Street, Lisbon in 2019. He has since opened five locations across Portugal, with this as the first outpost outside of the country.
