Forget trekking to Mayfair for award-winning Indian food – Putney is about to have its own Michelin-trained chef at the helm. Opening this autumn, RAAZ (meaning “secret” in Hindi) will bring modern Indian cooking with fine-dining precision to SW15, raising the neighbourhood’s culinary game.

Leading the kitchen is Imran Mansuri, one of London’s most experienced Indian chefs. With training at Michelin-starred Tamarind and Benares, a leadership role at Jamavar, and a recent tenure as Executive Chef at Kolamba, his credentials speak volumes. “We’re serving the kind of modern Indian food you’d happily cross London for – only now it’s on your doorstep,” Mansuri says.
The Food at RAAZ
The menu takes guests from the crunch of street-food inspired chaat to smoke-kissed tandoor grills and indulgent slow-cooked curries. Highlights include:
Cornish lamb chops with kadai mushrooms and soft-yolk quail egg
Wild garlic chicken chop with charred broccoli
Coconut-rich Malabar fish curry with wild seabass
With seasonal produce from Essex farms, the food is crafted for every occasion – from happy-hour bites to full à la carte dinners and group feasts. A festive Christmas menu is already in the works.
The Drinks
The cocktail list is as thoughtful as the food: a golden turmeric G&T, a sweet-tart-spicy jalapeño-guava margarita, and a pretty yet punchy Lychee 75. The concise wine list balances weekday sipping with bottles for celebration.
The Space
Inside, 60 covers are framed by warm wood panelling, leather banquettes, and floral details, while a 14-seat terrace welcomes alfresco diners. A state-of-the-art sound system and curated playlist set the mood for long evenings that feel both relaxed and celebratory.
RAAZ is the latest in a wave of serious openings south of the river – and it’s putting Putney firmly on London’s dining map.
