Review: MOMO Kombucha

There’s something quietly addictive about finding a drink that just fits into your day, and for me, MOMO Kombucha has become exactly that.

I’ll be honest, I’ve always been a little cautious with kombucha. As an early-days fan, I loved the idea of it, but the caffeine side of things sometimes made me hesitate. That said, these have completely won me over. They’ve become a bit of a staple in my fridge, and I find myself reaching for them without even thinking.
The Carmelo’s Blood Orange collaboration with Natoora is a real standout. The flavour is just beautiful. It has that bright citrus lift you expect, but it’s softened with this gentle, almost berry-like sweetness that makes it incredibly easy to drink. It doesn’t overwhelm your palate. Instead, it sort of resets it. Calm, balanced, with just the right amount of zing to keep things interesting.
What we love is how drinkable it is. This isn’t something you sip once and put down. It’s one of those drinks you settle into. Long, easy sips, whether that’s mid-afternoon or in the evening when you’d usually reach for a glass of wine. I can completely see why so many people are turning to this as an alternative to alcohol. It still feels like a treat, still feels like a moment, just without the heaviness.
There’s also something about the branding that really draws you in. It feels considered, confident, and quietly cool without trying too hard. The kind of bottle you’re very happy to have sitting on the table.
And then there’s the people behind it. Knowing it’s created by husband-and-wife duo Josh Puddle and Lisa Puddle in their South London brewery adds to the charm. There’s a real sense of care in how it’s made, from the quality of the tea to the seasonal ingredients they work with.
If I’m honest, I’ve been completely influenced. I keep buying them, and I do feel better for it. Lighter, more balanced, and still very much enjoying what I’m drinking.
If you’ve been kombucha curious, or you’re looking for something that feels a little more special than your usual soft drink, this is absolutely one to have on your radar.
