Sentia Cask is a new, alcohol-free alternative to whisky from groundbreaking GABA Labs, using a blend of carefully researched and selected botanicals which support the body’s own GABA systems - those responsible for feelings of ease, connection, and conviviality - without the need for alcohol.

The company already produces Sentia Spirits Red, Black, and Gold, made with a blend of GABA-enhancing botanicals and excellent bases for a whole range of mocktails. Cask is infused with a double strength version, producing a warm, bold alternative to whiskey for a social boost without the alcohol and combining natural flavours with functional ingredients to enhance sociability and relaxation. When we tried it we felt it was surprisingly close to the aroma of whisky and definitely had that familiar gentle smokiness along with recognisable mellow notes of oak and vanilla.

The release of this new product is timely and reflects the cultural shift led by a modern generation of health-conscious consumers. Alcohol consumption is in decline, and functional drinks - drinks that support mood, sociability, and wellbeing - are emerging as a compelling “third way” between abstinence and drinking.
“This is a milestone for us,” says co-founder Orren; “Consumers are moving very quickly. They want innovation and are increasingly open to the functional products that we can deliver. The SENTIA Spirits range has pioneered the potential for drinks that ‘feel like’ alcohol, without the alcohol and has been very well received by consumers. With Cask, we have captured the functional essence of our ingredients in a form that integrates beautifully into a beverage that looks and tastes like a recognisable popular drink.”
Whether you're giving it as a gift, stocking up for stress (and hangover)-free Christmas entertaining or getting ready for dry January, this new approach to socialising with a drink is worth exploring.
