The London Oyster Championships

The London Oyster Championships returns to Bentley's Oyster Bar & Grill on Friday 18 September.
Now in its fourth year under Bentley's stewardship, bringing together some of the country's leading chefs, oyster shuckers and seafood enthusiasts, with a judging panel including Academy Award nominee Stanley Tucci, Jeremy Lee MBE, Georgiana Davies (Oyster Girl) and acclaimed restaurant writer Matthew Fort. Reigning champions Will Murray and Jack Croft of Fallow return to defend their title for Best Dressed Oyster against teams including Bouchon Racine, The Sea The Sea, Logma and The Suffolk. Competitors will also take part in the Speed Shucking Oyster Open battling it out for the chance to represent England at the World Oyster Opening Championships in Galway.

Quaglino's

It's being heralded the next chapter in its near 100-year history. Opened in 1929, Quaglino's has welcomed royalty, celebs and maintained a constant presence on London's dining scene. Closed for a month for refurbishment, while it's reimagined for the next generation, it re-opens its doors mid September.
What's coming? Three new bars, dedicated to champagne, dessert and seafood. The stage will be moved to the centre of the restaurant, with booths on a raised platform. The day-time vibe will include £10-plates from a new menu. By night, live performances to entertain diners. Booking is now open.

Bangkok Mama

Thai Square has launched a Thai pizza range. The Bangkok Mama pizzas fuse Wildfarmed sourdough bases, topped with Thai flavours. Try Gang Panang - beef or prawn, layered over a rich panang curry paste, coconut milk, peppers and kaffir lime leave; Bangkok Piccante - reminiscent of a traditional pad kra pao with soy sauce, birds eye chillies, onions, pepper, crispy basil with the option of beef or tofu and a fried egg on top; or Tom Yum Goong Crisis - mozzarella, roasted chilli oil, tom yum herbs and coriander.

God Save The Pizza

Back to a more traditional pizza offering, a new spot opens at Exmouth Market this month. God Save The Pizza has been founded by restaurateur Roberto Costa, and will champion Roman-style thin and crispy sourdough pizza topped with all manor of concoctions from 'ham, cheddar and pineapple', or classic 'tomato sauce with mozzarella cream, parmesan and basil oil', alongside an option to 'build-your-own' choosing up to four toppings.

Nakamushi

A new Japanese townhouse restaurant from the team behind Michelin-starred Dorian, EEL Sushi, and Supermarket of Dreams opens this month. Led by Chef Yuji Shimokawa Kelly and Chef Robin Kosuge, the duo will bring together their hugely popular Urchin and Robin's Ramen residencies under one roof. The ground floor will be dedicated to a fast-paced Tokyo-style ramen bar and upstairs an intimate 25-seat restaurant and bar will explore contemporary Japanese cooking.

Kāio

A flame-cooking focused restaurant, cocktail bar and rotunda-style alfresco terrace has opened at The Whiteley, the £1.5 billion transformation of the former Whiteleys department store on Queensway. Kāio takes its name from an ancient Latin word associated with fire, burning and the sacred act of kindling.
The menu celebrates bold international flavours elevated by the intensity of charcoal and open-fire cooking. Try starters like Torched Yellowtail with Sour Cherry Dressing and Glazed Smoky Aubergine with Dates, Honey & Walnut. Signature mains Glazed Iberico Pork with Ginger, Garlic, Fennel & Apple Slaw, and Grilled Lamb Neck Fillet with Sour Cream, Tomato, Mint and Molasses will also feature. Freshly baked flatbreads will be served from a traditional tabun oven.

Tallyman

London welcomes a new East End boozer this month - The Tallyman at Canary Wharf. Rumours about the menu promise classic comfort food, shellfish, and local drafts. Dishes include fish & chips, pies, and steak. Bar snacks will feature fresh oysters, and channelling the high low trend - pork scratchings topped with caviar.

Bone Daddies Launches Breakfast Menu

It is said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Bone Daddies is serving its famous 'breakfast ramen' all day and night long, seven days a week, at all London sites.
It's time to wake up and smell the ramen. Ramen is eaten at breakfast time widely across Japan. The all-new pimped up breakfast ramen is available until 30th September 2026. Cumberland sausage, Bloody Mary tomato, hash brown balls, spring onion and bean sprouts, doused in HP tonkatsu sauce, crowned with a half soy egg, dropped into a bowl of noodles, swimming in Bone Daddies’ 20-hour pork broth.
There's also host of new dishes joining the line-up, including Buldak Tator Tots, and Japanese Fried Oyster Mushroom Bao Bun. Fancy a morning sugar rush? Kinako French Toast with Matcha Soft Serve hits the spot.
