Chin-chin, tis the season for gifting gin. But where to begin? We've rounded up our top five independent gin brands for Christmas 2025 and beyond. Select any of these distillers below and we're certain you'll make a gin fan happy this Crimbo.
Ukiyo Tokyo Dry Gin

Ukiyo Tokyo Dry Gin is clean and refined in taste. It’s crafted from a rice base and infused with quintessentially Japanese botanicals – yuzu, Japanese mandarin (mikan), cherry blossom Sakura flower and leaf, and sansho pepper. Added to this are your more classic botanicals like juniper, lemon peel and cardamom. All together, giving this gin a complex and exciting taste with light spices from cardamon and pepper adding a light spicy flavour, which lends itself really well towards winter cocktails. We love the bottle too offering a unique shape and two-tone glass blending from clear into emerald at the top. Classy and super worthy of Christmas gin gifting.
RRP: £32 - 70cl / 40% ABV
Mermaid Gin

I've long been a fan of this Isle of Wight gin brand. Uniquely distilled from ethically and locally sourced botanicals, Mermaid Gin delivers a smooth yet complex, fragrant and distinctly coastal spirit. Botanicals include wild locally-foraged rock samphire (Mermaid's Kiss), elderflower, liquorice, orris roots and angelica roots, floral boadicea hops grown in a local herb garden and English coriander. The bottle is ribbed mirroring mermaid scales which will shine bright in the drinks cabinet over candlelight this winter.
£41 / 70cl 42 % ABV
Hernö Gin

If you’re unsure which gin select for your Christmas gifting this year, trust the experts as Swedish brand Hernö was recognised as Gin Producer of the Year in last year’s International Spirits Challenge (ISC) and their gin range has won a staggering total of 51 medals since 2015. Hernö Gin (Juniper cask) will give your gin drinking a festive, fragranced twist with its hints of bright florals and citrus mixed with tropical fruity tones and a hint of Jamaican pepper spice and even pine tree notes on the nose. It's the first distillery in the world to mature gin in casks made out of juniper wood! Perfect your negronis at home with a bottle of this.
£60.75 - 50cl / 47% ABV
No.3 Organic London Dry Gin

It’s a crowded market out there in the world of gin and this brand really stands out with its triangular shaped bottle and server key on the front – embossed with the words: juniper, citrus and spice. No.3 Organic London Dry Gin is distilled in Holland in copper pot stills for Berry Bros & Rudd, smoothly blending the classic gin botanicals. It’s the only gin to be awarded the World’s Best on four separate occasions so rest assured it’s a top gin to grab for your Christmas gifting or for your festive martini pouring at home.
£39.50 RRP, - 70cl, 46% ABV
Portofino Dry Gin: The Original

We love the uniqueness of this gin bottle. The vivid aqua-marine coloured glass transports you to the Mediterranean. Sip your gin, while dreaming of the sea. Portofino Dry Gin (The Original) is a blend of 21 botanicals ranging from lemon and juniper to herbs including rosemary, lavender, marjoram, and sage – matching the flavours rooted in traditional Ligurian cooking. This gin is fresh and aromatic and makes for an elegant Christmas gift for the gin lover in your life or why not treat yourself. Cosy up by the fire, pour yourself a Portofino and tonic, and start planning your 2026 Italian adventures.
£42.50 - 500ml - 43.0% ABV
