UBA



Newly landed in Shoreditch is Uba, a pan-Asian spot featuring food from Chef Paul Greening who’s been inspired by his epicurean adventures across Tokyo, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Singapore. Try all sorts of South Asian cuisine from sashimi to bao buns, gyoza and ramen. Cooked on the robata grill, try yuzu shisho marinade lamb cutlets with nashi pear tomato miso and kimchi and crispy salmon belly with gochujang brown butter ponzu. Hungry yet? Bathed in auspicious red and gold, the interiors pay homage to Asian culture and mythology. You can take your pick of dining spots from gold and scarlet velvet banquette dining or counter dining which seats 14 at the statement marble bar.

Mimosa



Fancy French dining awaits at the Langam London with the opening of Mimosa this month. Mimosa Paris launched at Hotel de La Marine in Paris in 2021 and Moma Group is now bringing it across the channel with this first international outpost of Mimosa to the historic hotel on Regent Street. Mediterranean menus from chef Jean-François Piège will see an ode to the food and spirit of the French Riviera.

Mama Li



Cantonese ‘grab & go’ specialists Mama Li will open a second site in Moorgate this month. Born out of lockdown from Catherine Hua, Mama Li's daughter, Cantonese roast meat dishes made with traditional home roasting methods and rice and meat combos prepped for a tasty lunch on the go for city workers are the crux.


Launching on 24 April with traditional Chinese Lion Dancers. You can grab 50% off all food until Tuesday 30 April.



Fellini



Italian restaurant Fellini is coming soon to West London’s Chelsea. Unfussy approachable Italian food and classic Italian service is the vibe. Inside, olive trees will provide a true taste of Tuscany. and a terrazzo marble bar will act as a backdrop running the length of the room. Owner Tony Aalam said: ‘We’ve been looking forward to opening our door at Fellini for some time now. Our commitment to 'Come Era Una Volta', or ‘How It Used to Be’, will be prevalent in the restaurant as we revive the personal touch of 20th century Italy, delivering true hospitality and timeless service.”

 

Bookings go live on 15th April, (opens 6th May).

 


Daylesford Supper Clubs



Get diary planning and book a summer Cotswolds jaunt. Daylesford estate has some marvellous sounding supper clubs coming up at their countryside-chic gastropubs the Wild Rabbit in Kingham and The Bell at Charlbury. You can book tickets to The Bell’s 5-course supper club on 3 May where guest chef Adam Caisley will showcase a medley of Daylesford spring produce cooked on an open flame in The Barn. (£95). Visit the Wild Rabbit Kingham website for details of their upcoming seasonal supper clubs too (from £110) with themes including Coast, Rivers & Estuaries (17 June), Léoube’s new 2023 rosé vintage with Tom Aikens (Monday 8 July) and a British orchard supper (19 Aug). Both pubs have rooms if you want to make a weekend of it.
