Moonrays Opens in Soho
Moonrays has opened on London's Denmark Street, a new kind of social space bringing a characterful, relaxed east London vibe to the heart of the West End.
Part café, part bar, part high-fidelity listening space, Moonrays is a place for music discovery, solo time and conversation, work and relaxation - where sandos, coffee and cocktails are enjoyed alongside world-class sounds, from day to night.

Moonrays takes up residence in one of Britain's most iconic musical addresses. Since 1911, the Georgian building of 7 Denmark Street has stood at the heart of London's Tin Pan Alley - Britain's counterpart to New York's famous songwriting district - where songs were written, published, bought and sold, and countless careers in popular music began. It spans three floors, two bars, and a ground-floor terrace; throughout the venue, music is delivered through a carefully tuned sound system that is immersive without being overwhelming. Music shapes the atmosphere while leaving room for conversation, a bite and a drink, and the simple pleasure of discovering something unexpected.

Tucked away at the rear of the ground floor, The Listening Room is an intimate 15-seat sanctuary dedicated to the increasingly rare art of intentional listening. Every detail has been carefully considered - from sound to lighting, and even scent - creating a space where the outside world fades away, and the music takes centre stage. At its core is a high-fidelity vinyl playback system, powered by a pair of vintage Celestion Ditton 44 speakers.

Listening Room Sessions are immersive album journeys where musicians, DJs, producers and cultural figures play a chosen record from the first note to the last. Along the way, they share the stories, influences and memories woven through the music, offering an insight into the albums that have shaped their lives and work. Beyond the Sessions, The Listening Room is a versatile space for quiet working, informal meetings, and moments of reflection. Guests can browse Moonrays' carefully curated record collection - or bring a favourite album from home - and experience the sounds as they were intended to be heard. The space is also available for private and corporate events.
Downstairs at Moonrays, the atmosphere shifts as the venue comes alive after dark. Built around a vinyl-first philosophy and a high-fidelity d&b audiotechnik sound system boasting 2 E9 speakers, it hosts a rotating programme of resident selectors and guest DJs exploring the full breadth of the Moonrays musical universe - from jazz, soul and rare groove to world music, funk, blues and beyond.
Moonrays’ menu is served to the soundtrack throughout the day. The morning begins with freshly roasted specialty coffee, pastries and Shokupan Sando Toasted Series - pillowy Japanese milk bread piled with scrambled egg and glazed pancetta, dressed up with truffled labneh and smoked cheese, or layered with Brie de Meaux and prosciutto, served until 1 pm.

The all-day sandwich menu leans into elevated classics: a grilled Comté toastie (with an optional kimchi kick), a BLT with jalapeño mayo (or crispy chorizo), a spicy tuna melt on dark rye, and a canned sardine-and-tomato cream tartine. To nibble, there's aubergine and sea salt focaccia, sea salt and bacon potato crisps, olives with kumquat tapenade, Guinness caramel nuts, and a warm pretzel. For dessert, a matcha cheesecake and a rum-and-raisin pound cake.

Into the evening, the drinks programme features six signature cocktails: Talullah, a fresh and citrusy gin cocktail; Tomoki, a fruity and sweet mastic liqueur serve; Nord, a smoky, earthy and sweet whiskey cocktail; Prince, a nutty, fruity and fizzy whiskey creation; Unexpected, a refreshing, citrusy, low-ABV vermouth cocktail; and Aurora, a delicate, herbal and sweet gin serve. Alongside the signature cocktails, the menu includes classic cocktails, beer, sake, wine by the glass and soft drinks.
Moonrays is open seven days a week at 7 Denmark Street.
