New Booze Alert: Five New Drinks Launches For June

Looking for something new to bust out at your drinks party this month or just want to sit back and sip something fabulous in your garden? Here are the latest drinks arrivals that have caught our eye from low alcohol gin to Italian amaretto, and no start of summer drinks round-up would be complete with out a rosé. Happy drinking!

Madame F

Rosé season is upon us and if you’re looking for something new, this flamboyant wine hits Sainsbury’s shelves this summer. Created in collaboration with LGBTQ+ charity Queer Britain, the fruity little number is a blend of vibrant Grenache and citrusy Syrah. The Susy the Frog image featured on the Madame F bottle has been designed by illustrator Justin Kemp. In October 2021, Madame F launched The Queer Britain Madame F Award, pledging £30,000 to champion LGBTQ+ artists and support the Queer Britain museum which recently opened in King’s Cross.

ADRIATICO Amaretto - EDITOR'S PICK

This gorgeous Italian liqueur brand disembarks in the UK this month bringing ADRIATICO Amaretto and ADRIATICO Bianco Amaretto to our shores. Handpicked Italian almonds from Puglia are roasted before being macerated and distilled. The final amaretto is then blended with cinnamon, cocoa and coffee and cane sugar. Sister serve ADRIATICO Bianco Amaretto is made from crushed white almonds, which are chopped and soaked, resulting in a silky liqueur with notes of vanilla. This is a fantastic tasting new wave amaretto brand that you won’t be able to put down once you try. It’s also lactose free making it the only vegan amaretto brand in the world.

Inginious Gin

This dinky minature sized gin bottle is the perfect little tipple for those that still want the taste of gin but don’t want the hellish hangover the morning after. The super concentred serve fuses classic botanicals including juniper, Angelica and orris root along with lemon verbena, spruce and more. You need just 5 mls to add to your preferred tonic to get the ideal tasting G&T which comes in at just 0.2 units of alcoholic per drink. The bijou bottle comes with it own 5ml measuring spoon so you can perfect your Inginious gin time and time again.

Island Dark Rum from Isle of Barra Distillers

Outer Hebrides may not the first place you would source your rum from, however Isle of Barra Distillers launches their Island Dark Rum this month. Carrageen seaweed hand-harvested from the shores of Barra is a lead botanical, plus 16 other infusions including coconut, cardamon and orange peel, adding some more familiar rum flavours. The family run distillery has a host of awards for their other spirits so we’re keeping a close eye on this one!

Gin No 5

A sipping gin? Normally associated with whisky or rum, this latest gin from Berkshire-based Cookham Cocktail Club has already scooped two awards - named world’s best new contemporary gin, as well as the best English contemporary gin (42% ABV and below) at the Gin Guide Awards 2022. Distilled by Henley Gin Distillery, 11 distinct botanicals have been combined including black and pink peppercorns, cinnamon and cardamom, along with yuzu peel and blackcurrant to result in an incredibly distinct and smooth gin that can be enjoyed over ice with a slice of orange.
